AERYK CATIPON
MISSION STATEMENT
I want to empower athletes to realize their fullest potential, while fostering a sense of belonging and acceptance. My innovative and user-centered focused designs, will promote inclusivity of diverse athletes by addressing their physical and mental performance needs.
BACKGROUND
I am a performance product designer with a passion for innovative apparel and equipment design. I graduated from George Washington University with a degree in International Affairs. From there my career brought me to work in the electronics manufacturing and engineering industry for the New York City subway system—with roles such as Quality Supervisor, Product Designer, and Project Manager.
Along the way, I discovered a love for long distance running, fixed gear bikes, backpacking, and the outdoors. As a result, I left my job as a Project Manager to work as a Customer Experience Guide for Patagonia Brooklyn, and then left NYC to pursue a masters degree in Sports Product Design at the University of Oregon.
I am a hands-on doer that works through the largest of problems by breaking it down into smaller parts. I am most energized leading and designing technical solutions for everyday use. Recognized for strong communication and organization by clients, including the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority and OutFront Media.
CAREER GOALS
I want to join a values-driven company that excels in running apparel and equipment innovation, driven by a mission to make a positive impact.
